Gus Vasilakis is the Vice President of Partner Channels, Enterprise, and Public Sector. Joining Ciena in April 2016 he is responsible for Go-To-Market strategies of channels and direct business in North America. The diverse sales, channels, and presales teams under Gus support Ciena’s top enterprise verticals including Finance, Utilities, Healthcare, Education, as well as the CGSI business of DoD, civilian, federal agencies and state government.
Mr. Vasilakis has more than two successful decades of experience in the telecom and networking space with an extensive background in sales strategies and business process building partner ecosystems to support enterprise business.
Since joining Ciena Mr Vasilakis is responsible for developing the North American account base selling strategy for 2017, transformation of the partner team to a vertical center of excellence, and introducing a new Route-To-Market that includes both distribution and system integrators in addition to Ciena’s successful carrier resell and managed service programs.
Gus is a Pittsburgh native and holds a BS in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. He is active on several industry panels and participates on community boards and committees.
